Computer l 

This course is designed to expose students to emerging and traditional technologies. Students will be introduced to formal keyboarding and apply appropriate keyboarding techniques while typing in attempt to increase keying speed using a web based application. Students will use word processing applications such as Microsoft Word and Google Docs to learn various techniques in properly creating, editing, and formatting essays and presentations. Students will develop and refine search queries to get better research results. Students are introduced to computer science through web based programs for coding and programing. Students will explore and discuss internet safety and digital citizenship.  Students will be introduced to video production using teamwork to brainstorm their ideas to create/produce their own production. Students become knowledgeable in camera techniques, equipment and video editing software.

Emerging technology tools

Students use a variety of tools to present, create, and interact with. Students use typing.com for keyboarding skills and mastery. Everfi's "Ignition" is a interactive internet safety and digital citizenship program.  Symbaloo is our bookmarking tool.  Haiku is for communication. Aeries is for student data and grades. 

Video production

This course focuses on performing a variety of tasks from planning, writing original scripts, producing, shooting video, and editing footage.  Students learn about the operation of video equipment, Mac computers and editing software. Students study and participate in the roles of a production crew.  Students will have a complete technical knowledge of all aspects of video production: Producing, directing, camerawork, audio, lighting, and editing. 

Computer Science

Students will develop and refine search queries to get better research results. Students are introduced to computer science through web based programs for coding and programing.
